CHARACTER DESIGN
My simple little character design for the Never-Wrongs and Ever-Rights ‘The Borderlands’ short was selected to become the basis for a real puppet show performed live at the Orpheum theatre in October 2013.
ILLUSTRATION
ANIMATIONS
At the time, I didn’t have access to any Adobe programs like Photoshop or After Effects so I used Pixlr.com to cut out images and give them transparent backgrounds. (I remember that there was no quick-select tool only a lasso tool! I had one chance at a time to trace any elements, so I did so very cautiously on my laptop’s trackpad. The online editor also did not have its own file type or autosave so any disruption to my internet connection and all of my progress was lost!) Then I would use the program Scratch to animate the elements I made in Pixlr. Then I would screen record with Quicktime player and then finally edit footage in iMovie. The image quality is obviously degraded by this long-winded process, but my passion for storytelling remained clearly intact.

GRAPHIC DESIGN
Like I mentioned earlier, at the time, I had limited tools at my disposal but it didn’t stop me from trying to execute my ideas!
